Our Vogrie campsite is fully equipped for 30 and there are various onsite facilities:
The Hub
The spacious camp hub houses a large sink, microwave, food prep area, tables & benches, fridge and all kitchen equipment and utensils required.
Both drinking water and hot water is available in the hub.
Wood Store
The wood store next to the hub should be fully stocked on your arrival. Please keep this tidy during your stay and restock before you leave.
Vogrie received a Tyne Esk Leader grant which was used to install and upgrade the hub, wood store and installed a new boundary fence in 2019.
Cooking
A large fire grid is provided, and the cooking area is covered by a newly installed fire shelter. A gas boiler, hot water ‘billy’ and patrol cooking fires are also available.
Tents
There are 6 "Stormhaven" patrol tents, one large store tent and 2 lats stored in the camp room. The "Stormhaven" tents are named and have a matching set of poles and pegs.
Please take care of all camp equipment and do not drop equipment from the stairs.
Wet Weather
The camp storeroom, located upstairs in the right wing of the house and accessed by the metal staircase can be used in the event of extreme weather.
In the event of a wet strike, please hang all canvas on the pulleys in the camp storeroom. Those who live locally are kindly asked to return and pack the dry canvas before the next group arrive. Please inform Lorna Greig of all wet strikes.
Campfire Circle
There is a campfire circle on the campsite – more information can be found here.
Toilets & Showers
There are two toilets and showers inside the house (at the far end of the corridor).
After 10pm, outdoor lats on the campsite should be used. Lats can be emptied in the upstairs bathroom and cleaned using disinfectant.
Rubbish
Please responsibly burn as much of your rubbish as possible and recycle what you can. Any other rubbish can be bagged and put in the bins in the courtyard.
Leaders Parking
There is space on the left side of the drive for up to 6 cars and these are shared spaces with users of the house.
