Our Programme

The Girlguiding Programme has six consistent themes that run all the way from Rainbows to Rangers. Rangers is for young women aged 14 to 18.

Skills builders are designed to stretch and challenge girls of all abilities and enable them to develop core skills throughout their guiding journey.

Unit meeting activities are activities of varying lengths and styles to add balance and variation to the programme.

Interest badges are a girls’ opportunity to explore her own interests, hobbies and passions outside of the unit setting.

A combination of unit meeting activities, interest badges and skills builders on the same theme will help girls build up to a Theme award that demonstrates the time they’ve dedicated to exploring that area.

Girls can achieve a section Bronze award once they have completed any two Theme awards in their section, and their section Silver award, when they have earned any four Theme awards. When a girl has achieved all six Theme awards in her section, she can decide to take on the section Gold award challenge to achieve the relevant award for her section. The challenge changes depending on a girl’s section and her interests.

Anniversary badges are bold badges to celebrate membership and commitment. There’s a badge to mark each year a girl spends as part of the guiding family – no matter what age she joins.
